How do you learn best? Do you like to watch a demonstration? Would you rather hear a lecture? Or are you the kind of learner who enjoys hands-on, pressing buttons to figure it out? Think about the way you approach a new electronic device…
- If you are a visual learner, you might read the instructions or watch a YouTube video to learn how to use your device.
- If you are an auditory learner, you might prefer to listen to someone explain how to use your device.
- If you are a tactile learner, you learn how to use your device by actually touching and handling it–trying it out.
There’s no one best way to learn, ergo there should be no one way to teach! An effective facilitator engages learners via each of the learning modalities, appealing to the diversity through activities that let learners HEAR, SEE and DO.
